iPhone battery health calculator

Estimate your battery health from charge cycles, age & usage. No app needed.
Find in Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements → Analytics Data → search "log-aggregated"
This is an estimate based on Apple's published cycle ratings and typical degradation curves. For your exact battery health, go to Settings → Battery → Battery Health & Charging on your iPhone.

How to use this calculator

1
Select your iPhone model — older models have 500-cycle batteries; iPhone 14+ have 1000-cycle batteries.
2
Enter your charge cycles — find this in your phone's analytics data or estimate based on how often you charge.
3
Enter your phone's age in months — this helps account for calendar aging even with low cycles.
4
Choose your usage pattern — heavy users drain more per charge, accelerating wear.

How iPhone batteries age

Apple rates iPhone batteries to retain 80% capacity at 500 charge cycles (or 1000 for iPhone 14+). Batteries also degrade from age, heat, and fast charging. After 80%, Apple's Performance Management throttles CPU to prevent unexpected shutdowns.

How to find exact battery health

On your iPhone: Settings → Battery → Battery Health & Charging. This shows the exact Maximum Capacity percentage and whether performance management is active.

FAQ

When should I replace my battery?
Apple recommends battery service when health drops below 80%. At this point, iPhones may throttle performance and have noticeably shorter battery life.
What counts as one charge cycle?
A full charge cycle is 100% of battery capacity used — not necessarily one full charge. Two 50% charges count as one cycle.
Does wireless charging affect battery health?
Wireless charging generates slightly more heat than wired, which can marginally accelerate degradation over many cycles.
